The Department's scientific and research goals include conducting research in the area of:
Evaluation of the degree of regional development sustainability in the social, economic and environmental dimensions;
Comprehensive quality of life measurement tools;
Measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of financing local and regional development;
Ways identifying smart specializations as a tool to support the innovative potential of enterprises using the European Union funds;
Conditions for the development of the innovative potential of enterprises;
Analysis and assessment of corporation financial situation, including direct foreign investments;
Analysis of determinants optimization of enterprises capital structure;
Assessment of the effectiveness of investment financing instruments under financial constraints;
Estimation of externalities of investment activities;
Conditions for the development of foreign direct investments;
International conditions for enterprises development, with particular emphasis on European-Asian relationship;
Legal and fiscal conditions of running a business;
Legal conditions for the feasibility of pro-ecological projects;
Evaluation of effectiveness, functioning efficiency and development of health care system and social security funds in Poland;
Conditions for the development of the third sector of the economy in Poland and the European Union;
Evolution of economic thought in the context of creating contemporary paradigms of development economics, institutional economics and new economic geography.
